101st Airborne Division (Air Assault)

“Rendezvous with Destiny.”

The 101st Airborne Division, first saw combat during the Normandy invasion on June 6th, 1944. The Division made night parachute
landings behind enemy lines, and in the dark morning before H-Hour seized positions west of Utah Beach to anchor the Seventh Corps'
southern flank, eliminate the German's secondary beach defenses, and to assist the 4th Infantry Division to continue inland after landing
on the beaches. Securing and/or destroying bridges, taking and holding key intersections, the men assembled and fought in small
groups, and in the face of tremendous adversity and heavy casualties, carried out their mission.

From Bastogne and the Battle of the Bulge, to Vietnam and the brutal battles of An Loc and Hamburger Hill, and on to Gulf Wars I and II
and in Iraq, the Division has fought and served with honor and pride.

In October of 2007, the unit began deploying to Iraq once more.  We will pray for them as they write new chapters in history, and continue
fulfilling the unit motto…Rendezvous with Destiny
